What a junkyard does
Junkyards buy end-of-life and damaged cars, sell used parts pulled from them, and send what is left for scrap. Many buy cars that don't run; ask whether towing is included and what paperwork they need.

Selling a car to a yard in Ohio
- Title: Paper title: the seller completes the 'assignment of ownership' on the back and has the signature notarized.
- No title: Under ORC 4505.04, a buyer gets no ownership rights in a vehicle until a title is issued to them or assigned to them, so you need the title (or BMV 3770 for an electronic title) to sell.
- Plates: Plates stay with the seller.
